Description

Position Summary:

Lead, mentor, and guide production associates to produce high quality vehicles in a timely manner. This position reports to the Production Manager with indirect contact with the Director of Operations, Quality Manager, Engineering Manager and other plant leaders. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, often in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Guide and motivate team members to achieve safety, quality, efficiency and production targets
  • Monitor team performance, address complaints, resolve issues, and lead performance appraisals
  • Train and develop employees to be cross trained in all tasks in assigned department
  • Monitor employee performance and issuing disciplinary action when needed
  • Ensuring team members have support and general guidance on day-to-day operations
  • Troubleshooting production issues and working with support groups to determine and correct route causes
  • Communicate with team members and other team leaders to coordinate plans to meet production requirements
  • Support company Quality initiatives
  • Support company goals, objectives and production targets
  • Create and implement process improvements to increase safety, health, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand overall production and business requirements.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs of both internal and external customers
  • Lead by example
  • Be part of the solution

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in Production, Assembly, or Light Manufacturing necessary

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and without supervision
  • Must demonstrate good time management skills
  • Must have record of good attendance
  • Must possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills
  • Must have the ability to set goals and meet deadlines
  • Must possess excellent internal and external customer service skills
  • Must demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and ability to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner
  • Must possess a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution
  • Must have the ability to establish strong working relationships with co-workers and management
  • Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear.
